What would it take to get us in the Michelin guide, in terms of direct investment and infrastructure required to support it? In getting to know you and your focus on the food world, it has become so clear to me that the idea people aren't talking with the funders and none of them have a clear inroad to the public sector. I thought this was a really nuanced piece. We should figure out the throughline so that our business community and government folks can understand this better and see their role in helping.
Thanks Emily. I think we should look at it broadly--What would it take to build Oregon a world-class and resilient culinary ecosystem, and how would that more broadly help our food and beverage sector, and tell the story of Oregon in terms of creativity, resources, and beauty? And then ask what initiatives would help us achieve that in five or ten years. Michelin could be a part of that, but there are other things too. But I agree, there is a lot of opportunity here. Oregon tourism already does a great job in this space. Travel Oregon has been ahead of the curve on this for decades. But layering in the economic development piece as it relates to culinary presents new and exciting opportunities. So agree!
